RVND™ Dock is an essential part of your TripMaker® RVND™ device that - upon electronic registration of the device - can be loaded on to your computer. The RVND™ Dock software is stored on your device and with a PC, it will automatically install the first time you plug in your device. If you are a Mac user, click over to the Mac Installation instructions for first time installation.

Through the RVND™ Dock you can receive software upgrades for your device, get construction updates, get truck route and POI data updates, and purchase additional data features as they become available.
Note: Using the RVND™ Dock requires an Internet connection.

Installing RVND™ Dock with your Windows PC:

1)     Turn on your TripMaker® RVND™ device and allow it to power up.

2)     Connect the TripMaker® RVND™ device to your computer using the USB cable supplied in the box.

3)     When the software appears on your computer screen, click "Install Rand McNally RVND™ Dock".

4)     Click "View License Agreement" then click "Accept."

5)     Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

 

The RVND™ Dock is now installed and ready for use with your IntelliRoute® RVND™ device!

Docking your IntelliRoute® RVND™ device:

Every time you connect to your PC, the RVND™ Dock software will automatically start and provide any updates and upgrades available.  When you connect your TripMaker® RVND™ device to the RVND™ Dock, the updates will automatically flow to your TripMaker® RVND™ device.  You also can access your User Guide electronically, and provide anonymous feedback via "Tell Rand McNally" from the touch of a button on the RVND™ Dock.

1. The locations of the Apple Update Installations are as follows:


2. Attach your RVND unit to an Apple computer and wait for the connection.

3. Start your browser on the Apple computer (Safari browser) and click on the appropriate link for your RVND unit. The link will open the update installation and you will see RVND Update on your screen as follows:

4. Click on RVND Update and you should then see the folder RVND which contains the actual RVND programs and data and the two scripts, UpdateMyRVND and RestoreMyRVND as follows:

UpdateMyRVND will update the RVND and do an optional backup of your RVND. RestoreMyRVND will restore the backup if you choose to do a backup.

5. Click on UpdateMyRVND. A screen will then be displaying that UpdateMyRVND is an application which was downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it? Click on Open.

Next click on UpdateMyRVND again and follow its instructions to update your RVND.

6. After the RVND Update has completed, you should disconnect the RVND unit by right clicking on RVND Update which will bring up a menu screen containing the line "Eject RVND Update" which you should select.

7. You may now disconnect your RVND unit and close the browser.
