| 1. What do I do with the installation code that I am provided? |
 |

To install the RouteTools product, you need an Internet connection. Please verify that you are connected before starting the installation process. Once you have confirmed internet connectivity, please follow the installation steps provided on the CD. At the prompt for the installation code, please enter the code from your email.
| 2. I cannot find my installation code. Where can I locate it? |
 |

If the product was downloaded from the randmcnally.com site, your installation code is sent in the confirmation email you received. If you selected the CD version of RouteTools, the installation code is located on the back of the case that contains the product. If you have deleted this e-mail, please contact us by calling 1-800-ASK-RAND
(275-7263) or store@randmcnally.com.
| 3. Will data updates be included? |
 |

There will be no product or data updates with the purchase of the product.
| 4. My shipper has MileMaker. Is this the same as RouteTools? |
 |

RouteTools, MileMaker, and IntelliRoute all utilize the same proprietary Rand McNally databases. If your shipper is utilizing IntelliRoute Guide 19 Quickest miles and routes, with the same truck configuration, they will deliver the same results.
| 5. I lost my CD and I need to reinstall RouteTools on my computer. |
 |

To replace the CD, please e-mail our Customer Service Center at store@randmcnally.com. Per your license agreement with the software, we cannot supply free replacements for multiple registrations or media lost. Your license agreement did permit you to make one copy of the product for backup. If you have your backup you may reinstall the product on the same computer. You will not be able to install your backup on another computer.

| 6. I have a damaged CD. Where do I send it to for an exchange? |
 |

Unopened packages or damaged CDs due to manufacturing may be exchanged for a new product. Please contact our Customer Service Center at store@randmcnally.com to arrange a replacement for your damaged CD. CDs that are broken or damaged due to improper handling will not be replaced but you may repurchase the product.
| 7. Do I need the CD to operate the software at all times? |
 |

The CD is only required during installation of the software.
| 8. If I attempt to reinstall the CD I bought on another computer, will th |
 |

No. Per your license agreement, you may only install the CD on one computer, and have a backup copy which must be installed on the same computer as the original product.
| 9. What Operating Systems will this work on? |
 |

The product was compatibility tested for Microsoft Windows® XP SP2 and Windows Vista Business. It is not intended for multiuser configurations.
| 10. Will RouteTools work on a Mac? |
 |

No. This product was compatibility tested for Windows® XP SP32 and Windows Vista Business.

| 11. Does RouteTools calculate address-to-address routes? |
 |

No. The product is designed for long-haul, point-to-point methods of miles, routes and directions.
| 12. How many cities/ZIP codes/Truck Stops are in RouteTools? |
 |

There are over 140,000 individual cities in RouteTools. This does not include over 41,000 updated ZIP codes and nearly 6,000 Truck Stops.

| 14. What is the Motor Carriers' Road Atlas? Where can I purchase it |
 |

Rand McNally's Motor Carriers' Road Atlas is geared for the professional truck driver and is based off of our best selling Road Atlas. It provides information on truck restrictions, as well as valuable information pertaining to the commercial freight industry. Generally, gas stations that carry the Rand McNally Road Atlas will also have the Motor Carriers' Road Atlas available for sale. Larger fuel stops will keep it stocked with other truck driving accessories. You can also purchase Motor Carriers' Road Atlas from the Rand McNally Online Store.
| 15. Do you have a printed manual for RouteTools? |
 |

RouteTools has an extensive online help system available in the product as well as our own exclusive usability assistant feature called ScreenTips. Screen Tips help users navigate with well documented explanations through almost every step in mileage and route calculations. The help system may be printed if desired.

| 16. How do I turn Screen Tips off? |
 |

To turn off the feature, go to the VIEW menu and select Screen Tips. This will "uncheck" the menu item, and Screen Tips will not automatically appear. Within each window however, you can switch it back on by clicking the square button with the cursor inside.
| 17. What do I do if I am having trouble using the RouteTools Fuel feature? |
 |

The RouteTools Fuel service is provided by IDSC. Contact IDSC at 216-455-1008 ext. 2813, or e-mail Support@FuelAdvice.com.
| 18. Why does the green terrain on the overview map appears offset from the highways? |
 |

For some screen resolutions the overview map may not display properly. To remove the overview map, perform these steps. 1)When RouteTools is running, click on the View menu, and select the Map Elements option. 2) Once that screen appears, uncheck the Terrain layer. 3) Click OK. This should correct the highway view of the maps.
| 19. How do I display my fuel stops when I calculate a route? |
 |

To display either all fuel stops or a amenity selected set of fuel locations perform the following steps:
1) Select the Features menu
2) Select Route Processing Options
3) On the Display Options tab choose Show Fuel Network or Show All Fuel Stops
4) Click Apply
5) OK.
These changes will now go into affect the next time you calculate a route.
