Rickwood Caverns will offer you a glimpse of the world below your feet. This state park, a member of the National Caves Association, has over a mile of subterranean, water-formed passages lined with sparkling limestone. They reveal geological events that occurred over 260 million years ago during the Mississippian period.
Within Rickwood Caverns State Park's 380 acres you'll find tent campsites and trailer sites equipped with restrooms, showers, and a dump station. Handicapped-accessible sites are available. You'll also find sheltered picnic areas with cooking grills, an Olympic-size swimming pool, miniature train rides, concessions, and playgrounds. Cavern tour schedules change from season to season so it's a good idea to call for information before your visit.
Pets: Leashed pets are permitted in park and campgrounds.
Reservations: Alabama has a central information and reservation telephone number: 800-252-7275. There is no fee for making a reservation. Most Alabama state parks charge a nominal day-use entrance fee per person. There are also admission fees for cave tours.

Please call ahead to confirm details. We do our best to give you current information, but facts can change. Please let us know if you find something's changed.
