Dominating the Rocky Mountain skyline at 14,110 feet, Pikes Peak is one of America's most photogenic mountains. The summit is accessible by train, toll road, or hiking trail. At the top you can get fast food and souvenirs at the Summit House. The Pikes Peak Highway toll road, which covers 38 miles round trip and climbs nearly 7,000 feet, costs $10 per adult or $35 for a carload of four or more people. It starts near the town of Cascade, a few miles west of Manitou Springs. Toll road information is available at 719-684-9383. The Pikes Peak Cog Railway begins on Ruxton Avenue in Manitou Springs. Reservations are required and may be made by calling 719-385-7325.
