The headwaters of the Rainbow River make up Florida's fourth-largest natural spring. It is surrounded by azalea gardens, sandpine forest, and river wetlands, and is home to an abundance of wildlife. The azaleas are in full bloom in February through March.The most popular activities in Rainbow Springs State Park include swimming, picnicking, hiking, and camping. The campground offers full facilities. Pets: Leashed pets are permitted in campgrounds. Proof of vaccinations is required. Reservations: Florida has implemented a state-wide reservation and information system. Reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance online or by calling 800-326-3521.
