Consisting of approximately 200,000 acres of rolling hills, this area is lushly forested with central hardwoods. Lakes, streams, and rivers abound for fishing, boating, and canoeing. The Forest offers two swimming beaches, more than 10 campgrounds (including equestrian camps), 239 miles of hiking, horseback and mountain bike trails, and several scenic sites. The Forest also includes the 13,000-acre Charles C. Deam Wilderness Area. Indiana state hunting and fishing licenses are required. Handicapped-accessible facilities are available. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Pets: Leashed pets are permitted. Reservations: To make reservations at a National Forest campground, call 877-444-6777. A nonrefundable fee is charged for each reservation made.
