Vermilionville lets visitors experience what early Cajun and Creole life and culture were like between 1765 and 1890. The living museum lets people sample the cuisine, listen to the music, and watch dances from the time when Louisiana was first settled. The grounds contain 18 structures, including 6 restored original homes, a full service restaurant, bakery, gift shop, and art gallery. Cooking demonstrations daily at 10:30 AM, 12:30 PM, and 1:30 PM. There are also bilingual tours in French and English with costumed interpreters.
