Drive 10 miles south of North East, down the Turkey Point peninsula, and you'll find Elk Neck State Park. The Elk River, North East River, and Chesapeake Bay form the park's boundaries on three sides. Covering almost 2,200 acres, the park offers terrain ranging from forested bluffs to sandy beaches. Water recreation is popular in summer months. Bring your boat or rent at the park. Hiking trails, picnic sites, and a playground make for a fun day. Campsites are available and reservations are recommended between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
