The trademark here is the Great Apes of Harambee exhibit, where you can see chimpanzees and gorillas. The penguin area is a triangular building in which the zoo's four different species of penguins may swim fast enough to be seen "swimming through the air." There are reptiles and amphibians, large African mammals, and domestic barnyard animals.
The Arctic Ring of Life, the world's largest polar bear exhibit, spreads over four acres at the zoo. The interactive facility features both outdoor and indoor exhibits that tell of the relationship between the people of the Arctic (the Inuits) and its wildlife.
