Tahquamenon Falls State Park is actually the site of several waterfalls. The Upper Falls, sometimes called "Little Niagara," plunges nearly 50 feet, and is 200 feet wide. This great size makes it one of the largest waterfalls east of the Mississippi. You can appreciate the falls from viewing platforms or the Toonerville Trolley in Soo Junction. The Lower Falls consists of a series of five smaller falls. The park, Michigan's second-largest, offers 45,000 acres of nature and excellent opportunities for hiking, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. Taquamenon Falls State Park is located 10 miles W of Paradise on MI-123.
