Among the rugged hiking trails within the forest are the North Country National Scenic Trail (86.4 miles), which is not a loop trail; Tracy Ridge Trail (38.7 mile loop); Morrison Trail (10.8 miles); and Johnnycake Trail (6.3 mile loop). Mountain biking is allowed on some trails. The loop topography is not particularly rugged, but the slope on these trails is considerable. Primitive camping is available from mid-April through October. Backcountry camping is available in the Hickory Creek Wilderness, and is also allowed throughout the Allegheny National Forest. Hunting is allowed in-season. Winter activities include snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. Reservations are recommended for all campsites. Some camp areas are handicapped-accessible.
Pets:0 Leashed pets are allowed.
