Journey through time at the National Watch and Clock Museum, where more than 12,000 specimens trace the history of timekeeping and timepieces from around the globe. From Stonehenge and water clocks to early nonmechanical devices and atomic clocks, the museum is an unforgettable adventure through time. Special exhibits include a turn-of-the-century jeweler's shop, a 20th-century watch factory, and a cabinetmaker's workshop. Visitors see a brief video on the history of time and timekeeping before entering the museum and end in the Museum Shop after touring the museum's exhibits.
The site also includes a lending library and research center (open to the public), one of the world's largest on the subject matter, and a board-licensed School of Horology.
Museum hours: From January through March, 10 AM to 4 PM Tuesday to Saturday, closed on Sunday and Monday; From April through December, 10 AM to 5 PM Tuesday to Saturday, 12 NOON to 4 PM on Sunday, closed on Monday. Closed on Mondays and major holidays.
