The water at Pawleys Island is temperate and swimmable from April through October. The beach here is natural in type, and is tree-lined in back. It is lovely and clean, with a soft bottom unlike the shelly beaches in North Carolina. There is no concession stand on the beach. Tennis courts, a marina, and golf courses are nearby.
