Imaginations both young and old will be stirred by the fun and inviting art in this center's collection. The NCCIL recognizes and honors the artistic achievements of children's illustrators who produce fine works worthy of gallery exhibition. Exhibits featuring works borrowed from the selected illustrators are mounted and opened at the museum and then sent on tour around the nation. The center also has a permanent collection of works from many accomplished artists.
The Center is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10 AM to 4 PM. Admission is free and the facility is handicap accessible. The NCCIL also hosts Artwalk on the second Thursday of each month. The center is open from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM on these evenings, and live entertainment, exhibit viewing and children's art activities are a part of every Artwalk.
