Copper, gold, and zinc deposits here have been pouring out riches since 1915. In recent years, outdoor enthusiasts have also discovered the wealth of fishing and hunting opportunities in the surrounding spruce, poplar, and aspen forests and in the unspoiled lakes, rivers, and streams. Flin Flon's annual Trout Festival draws sports enthusiasts and vacationers. Other attractions include the Phantom Lake Golf Club, the Flin Flon Petting Zoo, Flinty's Boardwalk, the Hundred Stairs, and the statue (designed by cartoonist Al Capp) of supposed town patriarch Josiah Flintabbatey Flonatin. For hockey action, catch the Flin Flon Bombers, the town's junior hockey league team.
