Party-central in Mobile is downtown on and near Dauphin Street, where clubs lining the streets give the area a New Orleans party atmosphere. You'll find everything here from acoustic music to high-energy dance clubs. Local bands play at places like Veets (Wednesday through Friday nights) and Boo Radley's (Thursday through Saturday nights). Hurricane Brewing Co. produces its own humorously named microbrews (Projected Path Amber, Storm Surge Stout), and they have live music on the weekends. For the adventuresome, there are also alternative bars like B-Bob's and Gabriel's.
Jazz fans can head across the bay to the town of Daphne and a restaurant called The Nautilus which offers live jazz Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Country music fans can do some fancy boot-scootin' at The Whiskey. Highlights of the weekly lineup here include foosball tournaments, karaoke, line dance lessons, and live music on the weekends.
For complete club listings, pick up a copy of Lagniappe magazine or weekend editions of the Press-Register.
