There is life after dark in Montgomery. Housed in a huge old railroad storage building, Montgomery Brewing Company, commonly called "the Brewpub," is the place to sample microbrews with names like Wipe Out Stout and Old Montgomery Blonde. In addition to lunch and dinner, the place serves up live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights, as well. To check out the independent music scene, drop by Head on the Door, the city's venue for alternative and indie bands. This small club has been known to pack them in for live encounters Friday and Saturday nights.
Film buffs should check the schedule at the Capri Theatre, a non-profit neighborhood movie house that shows foreign and domestic independent releases. Chances are the Capri will be running something eclectic and worthwhile.
For the latest on what's up after the Montgomery sun goes down, consult local publications.
