Located in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains, the lovely college town of Arkadelphia, founded in 1839, is the home of Henderson State University and Ouachita Baptist University. Nearby state parks offer a wealth of recreational opportunities. At Crater of Diamonds State Park, you can dig for (and keep) real diamonds. Daisy State Park offers well-stocked Lake Greeson, where black bass, walleye, pike, and rainbow trout may be among your catch of the day. To the north, 13,800-acre DeGray Lake and DeGray Lake Resort State Park offer lodging, a convention center, championship golf, tennis, a marina, camping, picnic areas, and special events.
