This one-time mining town, "The Town Too Tough to Die," is renowned for the OK Corral and other vestiges of the Old West, such as the Crystal Palace Saloon. Get an overview of the history of the town, a National Historic Site, at Tombstone Historama. Just outside its doors is the OK Corral, where daily re-enactments of the Earp-Clanton gunfight are held. See the world's largest rosebush at the Rose Tree Museum. The Bird Cage Theater, built in 1881 to showcase bawdy shows, is open for touring. So is the C.S. Fly Gallery, the re-created studio of a local photographer who immortalized images of the town in its heyday.
