Car

Colorado Springs lies at the junction of Interstate 25, which runs north/south, and U.S. Highway 24, which runs east/west. Nevada Avenue, which runs parallel to Interstate 25, provides easy access to most of Colorado Springs' major streets. Rental cars are available both at the airport and downtown.

Public Transport

Bus:Mountain Metropolitan Transit (719-385-RIDE) operates the public bus system in Colorado Springs. Most buses run from 5:10 AM to 10:40 PM Monday through Friday, 5:30 AM to 6 PM Saturday, and 7:30 AM to 5:35 PM Sunday; only a few routes operate during the evening hours. Basic fare is $1.25, with an extra fare of $0.85 if you cross suburban zone boundaries. Transfers are free, and monthly passes and multiple-ride punchcards are available.

Taxis:Customers should call for taxi service. Yellow Cab Co. (719-634-5000) is the major taxi service provider in Colorado Springs, and charges rates metered at $3.60 for the first mile and $1.60 for each subsequent mile. Additional passengers are charged $0.50 each.

Airport

Colorado Springs Airport (COS)

Colorado Springs Airport (COS) lies east of town along U.S. Highway 24, not more than a half hour away from most local destinations.

A ground transportation information booth is located on the lower level of the terminal, near the baggage claim area. Many local hotels and resorts provide complimentary shuttle services from the airport to their locations. Check with your hotel to see if it offers this amenity.

Transportation from the airport to downtown Colorado Springs:

Door-to-Door Van Service:Colorado Springs Shuttle (877-587-3456) provides door-to-door van service from the airport to destinations in Colorado Springs and environs, as well as shuttle service between Colorado Springs Airport and Denver International Airport.

Taxi:Yellow Cab Co. (719-634-5000) ) provides taxi service from the airport to destinations in Colorado Springs. Expect a ride downtown to cost around $25.
