Jacksonville Beach has six miles of oceanfront sand where beachgoers come to swim and sunbathe. Lifeguards are on duty year-round. Amenities include showers, restrooms, and food stands. Summer temperatures range from 70 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Special events take place nearly every weekend. Watch for the blues and seafood festivals and the kingfish fishing tournament. Volleyball tournaments also take place all season long. The boardwalk is often crowded with walkers, joggers, cyclists, and in-line skaters vying for fresh air and a view of the ocean.
