Something different in beach sports is to drive on the broad sand beach where auto land speed records were set in the early days of this summer resort city. Autos are still permitted on some sections of the beach, but the speed limit is 10 m.p.h. For a real taste of auto speed, visit the Daytona International Speedway, site of world-famous stock car and motorcycle races. Nearby Ormond Beach, the "Birthplace of Speed," holds an annual auto show on Thanksgiving weekend. See the Cuban art collection at the Museum of Arts and Sciences, and visit Sugar Mill Gardens.
