A location on Florida's Emerald Coast and a fleet of charter boats make Destin a center for sport fishing. There's 24 miles of white sandy beach along the Gulf shoreline, shared with Fort Walton, that's a haven for sunbathing, scuba diving, snorkeling, swimming and shelling. There's also wind-surfing and volleyball. Destin History and Fishing Museum has a unique collection of old photographs, game fish mounts and fishing memorabilia, some dating back to the 1930s. A touch tank is available for children.
