With St. Petersburg edged by water on three sides, fishing, swimming, and boating are topnotch. At Sunken Gardens, you can view gorgeous displays of orchids, camellias, and flame vine. There are a number of interesting museums in the area: Salvador Dali Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, Florida International Museum, St. Petersburg Museum of History, and Great Explorations-The Children's Museum. The Pier is an inverted pyramid offering food, specialty retail shops, an excellent view of Tampa Bay and downtown St. Petersburg, and day and night fishing.
