This elegant town is known for peaches, crape myrtle, and magnolias. In 1875, Samuel H. Rumph perfected a hardy peach that he called Elberta, for his wife, and Georgia's famous fruit was born. Rumph's refrigeration method allowed fresh Southern produce to be shipped all over the U.S. The Rumph-Meyers Home is on the driving tour of Marshallville's historic homes. You can also visit Massee Lane Gardens, national headquarters of the American Camellia Society. Massee Lane has one of the world's largest Boehm porcelain bird collections. Marshallville celebrates its floral heritage during the week-long Camelia Festival in February.
