The seat of Logan County bears the distinction of having been named for Abraham Lincoln before he became a nationally-known figure. An historical marker stands at the place where the future president christened the town with watermelon juice when the first lots were sold in 1853. You can visit the Mt. Pulaski Courthouse (1847) and a replica of the Postville Courthouse, both of which were on the circuit where Lincoln practiced law. Museums at Lincoln College display documents and mementos relating to Abraham Lincoln and other presidents. Also of interest, the Heritage in Flight Museum displays vintage aircraft and offers rides in historic planes at Logan County Airport.
