Located in the heart of Chicagoland's fast-growing high-tech corridor, Naperville, founded in 1831, has managed to retain some of its 19th-century character. In addition to Victorian homes in the downtown area, the town is home to the Naper Settlement. This 13-acre, living-history museum preserves 25 buildings from the period 1831-1900, with costumed interpreters performing daily tasks and specialized crafts. You can also stroll the beautifully landscaped Riverwalk park as it hugs the DuPage River.Nearby, the Morton Arboretum in Lisle offers nine miles of automobile routes and 25 miles of walking trails through its 1,700 acres of woodlands and plants.
