Long linked with the name of Kennedy and the Kennedy Compound summer homes, this Cape Cod town has fine beaches, a deep water harbor, and several memorials to the slain president. On Ocean Street, you'll see the pool and fountain at the JFK Memorial, while the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum in the Old Town Hall features photos and memorabilia of the Kennedy Summer White House. You can also take the ferry to Nantucket Island or Martha's Vineyard, ride the Cape Cod Scenic Railroad, or join a boat tour of Hyannis Harbor. Whale-watching cruises are also available.
