Since the Pilgrim landing on Plymouth Rock in 1620, Plymouth has grown into a living panorama of Pilgrim and Colonial times. Myles Standish Monument was constructed in honor of the 350th anniversary of the 1620 landing. In the heart of town is a 30-acre area with a park and a score of period homes. The restored County Courthouse (1749), some sections dating to 1660, has authentic furnishings and an antiquities museum. See also Pilgrim Hall Museum.

In the harbor is Mayflower II,0 a replica of the original vessel that sailed from England in 1957, faithfully re-creating the Pilgrim feat. Near the town center is the Jenney Grist Mill, with craft and gourmet shops built around an operating replica of a Pilgrim mill. Tour Cranberry World Visitors' Center, at Edaville USA family fun park in South Carver. Also tour and taste at Plymouth Bay and Plymouth Colony wineries. South of town is Plimoth Plantation, a living history museum that re-creates the Pilgrims' 1627 village. At Myles Standish State Forest, swim, boat, fish, hike, horseback ride, and camp. Tour on Plymouth Rock Trolley or go whale watching.
