Ralph's Chadwick Square Diner, a big player on the local rock scene, is about as funky as you can get. The club is noted for some of the best punk, rockabilly, and rock sounds in town. This is also a great place if you are looking for some good food.
The Irish Times has solo acoustic musicians on Thursday and Sunday nights, with rock cover bands playing on Fridays and Saturdays. Along with the traditional Irish pub food on the menu, you'll find lively disco action on the club's third and fourth floors where deejays keep the beat pulsing at Rehab. Just around the corner, The Atrium offers four clubs in one for dancing, drinking, or just hanging out.
If it's big laughs your after, try the Beantown Comedy Escape, located in the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Big names from the Boston comedy scene take the stage in the hotel's amphitheatre-lounge on Friday and Saturday nights.
