Located at the tip of the Calvert County peninsula between the Patuxent River and Chesapeake Bay, Solomons is a fishing village of small shops and waterfront docks, and the home of the University of Maryland's Chesapeake Biological Laboratory. You'll find numerous opportunities to take charter boats for fishing and sightseeing excursions. The Calvert Marine Museum offers exhibits on local marine history and biology, an oyster house, a restored lighthouse, and cruises aboard an historic waterman's craft.
