Seven miles of oceanfront, much of it wide, flat, sandy beach, assures Wells of plenty of summertime water enthusiasts. In addition to enjoying sun and sand, you can explore the Wells Reserve, a estuarine wildlife habitat at historic Laudholm Farm. The visitors center features five rooms of exhibits and a slide presentation. Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge provides another unique opportunity to appreciate the salt marshes of the Maine coast. Over 250 sea, shore and songbirds can be found here. You'll find more than 80 handsomely restored vintage automobiles, as well as a collection of antique arcade games, at the Wells Auto Museum. The Meetinghouse Museum in the former First Church has interesting historical artifacts dating from the founding of Wells over 350 years ago.
