Fort Edgecomb State Memorial (in nearby Edgecombe) is a blockhouse that guarded the harbor in the War of 1812. Visit the Lincoln County Museum and the jail (1809), now an interesting regional museum. Musical Wonder House has a notable collection of antique mechanical music makers. Also see Nickels-Sortwell House (1807), of classical Federal style, and Castle Tucker.
