Interstates 75 and 69 intersect on the southwest side of the city. Interstate 475 intersects I-69 near downtown. Surface streets are mostly laid out in grid fashion making driving fairly easy. North-south addresses are divided by First Avenue. East-west addresses are divided along Saginaw Street.

Bus: Buses are operated by the Mass Transportation Authority (MTA). Service runs from 6:30 AM until 11 PM. Rides are $1 and transfers cost $0.05. (810-767-0100) Taxi: Taxis can be found at cab stands and ordered by phone. Rates start with a $1.65 drop charge and cost $2.10 per mile.

Bishop International Airport (FNT) is about six miles from downtown on the southeast side of the city. (810-235-6560) Transportation from airport to downtown Flint: Bus: There is no bus service from the airport. Shuttle: A trip to downtown Flint with MLE Shuttle costs $30, with $4 for additional passengers. Reservations required. (810-659-7436) Taxi: Cabs charge $12 to $14 for a trip to downtown Flint. Cabs can be found at the main terminal.
