The Republican party was officially born here in 1854. Today Jackson is a center of transportation and industry and a base for tourists in scenic Jackson County. The Sparks Park Illuminated Cascade Falls is a spectacle of water rushing over 16 waterfalls and six fountains in continually changing patterns; often music and entertainment before the light and water show. Glimpse 19th-century farm life at Ella Sharp Museum Complex with a restored schoolhouse, barn, country store, farmhouse, printshop, doctor's office, and woodworking shop.
