The Twin Cities share a bustling nightclub scene, with all types of music and entertainment represented. One of the most famous live-music venues in Minneapolis was once the local Greyhound bus station. First Ave. & 7th Street Entry has played host to just about every well-known band there is. Rock acts top the list, but the club also books R&B, zydeco, and other musical stylings into their two showrooms. A few blocks away, the Fine Line Music Cafe offers more live rock and modern sounds. The Cabooze is another fixture in the Twin Cities music scene. They've been serving up rock, reggae, and blues for more than 25 years, and their outdoor patio dishes out great city views, as well. Jazz fans make a beeline for the Dakota Jazz Club for the best in national and local talent. For lighter entertainment, check out Acme Comedy Company, where nationally acclaimed stand-up comics perform on a regular basis. If you want more after-dark options, the small clubs and cafes concentrated in the West Bank neighborhood, near the University of Minnesota, may sate your nightlife appetite. Local newspapers, such as the City Pages, can offer up-to-date schedules and venue information.
