The county seat of Meagher County is known for its mineral springs, agates, and mountain scenery. Overlooking the town, the imposing Victorian home known as "The Castle" was built in 1892 by cattleman and mine-owner B.R. Sherman. It now houses the Meagher County Museum and contains period furnishings, mineral displays, and pioneer clothing.
Nearby, you can visit the ghost town of Castle, once one of the richest silver-mining towns and the home of Calamity Jane. The Showdown Ski Area is north of White Sulphur Springs in the Lewis and Clark National Forest.
