A mountain resort community in the Pisgah National Forest, Brevard is often called the "Land of Waterfalls." More than 200 falls, including Looking Glass, Courthouse, and Connestee, dapple the surrounding landscape. Brevard Music Center presents a seven-week series of summer concerts in a wide range of musical styles. You can visit the Cradle of Forestry in America National Historic Site, where trails lead past old cabins, the first forestry school in the U.S., and other historic sites, and the Forest Discovery Center has hands-on exhibits. Nearby, the Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education is open daily.
