Northwest of this booming trade center is the Upper Souris National Wildlife Refuge. Along the Mouse River are nesting areas for ducks and feeding areas for geese and other migratory birds. Hungarian partridges, ring-necked pheasants, and sharp-tailed grouse may be seen. Visit Roosevelt Park Zoo, and the Railroad Museum of Minot, and ride the Magic City Express miniature train at the zoo. Each year Minot hosts the famous Norsk Hostfest and the North Dakota State Fair.
