This community's practical name dates from the building of Garrison Dam, which submerged three towns whose occupants moved to a new location and called it New Town. One mile from Lake Sakakawea, this vacation center is the headquarters of the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation. Here are the Three Tribes Museum, Four Bears Casino and Lodge, and an observation point, called Crow Flies High Butte, overlooking Lake Sakakawea; excellent fishing.
