Dartmouth College is the chief support, interest, and asset of the city. You may see the murals created by famous Mexican painter Jose Orozco in the Baker Memorial Library, stroll on the college green, visit the Hopkins Center for the Arts and the ten galleries of the Hood Museum of Art, and inspect the excellent exhibits at the college museum. In February, during the Winter Carnival, be sure to go to the campus to admire the figures shaped in ice and snow by imaginative Dartmouth students. Take part in invigorating winter sporting events; skiing is popular in this area. In summer visit Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site nearby. Montshire Museum of Science across the river in Norwich, Vermont, is a child's delight.
