Hammondsport is an important center of the New York State wine industry, and the birthplace of Glenn H. Curtiss, a pioneer aviator. The Curtiss Museum contains early and present-day aircraft, Curtiss memorabilia, and displays on the early history of flying, as well as quilts, dolls and household items from the late 19th century. Take free winery tours at Bully Hill Vineyards. Greyton H. Taylor Wine Museum has exhibits on early wine, champagne, and brandy production. There are several more wineries around Keuka Lake, too.
