For nightly music and entertainment, you'll find folk, jazz and acoustic stylings at the Godfrey Daniels coffeehouse. At the opposite end of the musical spectrum, it's hard-core rock and funk five night's a week at the Sterling Hotel, a renovated Victorian establishment that claims to have the longest bar on the East Coast. You'll find live music that runs the gamut of rock musical genres at the Fun House, while at Jack Callaghan's Ale House, you can catch live Irish music every once in a while, or bands playing 70s covers.
For an eatery with one of the better beer selections in the area, try Pearly Baker's Ale House in Easton, just a few miles outside Allentown. The live music there happens on Fridays and Saturdays. Also in Easton, Porters' Pub is another popular place among beer drinkers: they feature a wide selection of brews, as well as good food and live entertainment Thursday through Saturday nights.
For the latest entertainment listings and information on the area's numerous pubs and clubs, be sure to see the A.M. Magazine section of the Friday edition of the Allentown Morning Call.
