While most visitors find it easiest to drive to their destinations on the Grand Strand, be aware that traffic can be bad. New highways have alleviated many of the problems, but you should probably still stay away from Highway 501 on Fridays and weekends. And avoid the beach exit roads right after hotel checkout time on Saturdays and Sundays.
