Only 45 years ago this was a small, placid college town and farming center. Today, it might be called Fun Central, Texas. Six Flags Over Texas was the first in the Six Flags chain that has burgeoned in other states. Here, each flag--Spain, France, Mexico, the Republic of Texas, the Confederacy, and the United States--flies over a theme section of the 205-acre park. Ride the Texas Giant roller coaster. Here also is the home baseball park of the American League Texas Rangers, as well as Six Flags Over Texas Hurricane Harbor, a water park. 2009 will see the opening of the new Dallas Cowboys stadium.
