With a vast array of clubs and dance halls offering all manner of musical styles, San Antonio is a city with a wealth of nightlife possibilities. The diversity of regional music is well represented from Tejano to blues to country and western.
The historic River Walk downtown is packed with restaurants and music venues. Try Jim Cullum's Landing for an evening of hot jazz in a casual atmosphere. Rowdy entertainment is offered at Durty Nelly's where the piano players knock out the tunes and encourage the patrons to join in the sing-along. The Rivercenter Comedy Club features top-name and up-and-coming comedians most nights of the week.
If you're looking for an old-fashioned country dance hall, head on over to Floore's Country Store; it's well known locally as the place where Willie Nelson got his start. One of the more unusual clubs is the Blue Bonnet Palace. In addition to dancing to top country and western bands, you can watch professional cowboys ride live bulls in the indoor rodeo ring. Another long-standing country music favorite is the Midnight Rodeo, which calls itself a honky tonk with class. You'll find DJs spinning the tunes here with the occasional live concert too.
Alternative rockers from both the local and national scenes rock out at the White Rabbit.
