The Gloucester Court House Square Historic District, a classic early Virginia county-seat complex, consists of a cluster of 18th-century buildings set in a circular yard surrounded by a low brick wall. Ten miles away at Gloucester Point is the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, a marine research center with an aquarium and a small museum. Historic Rosewell Ruins are nearby.
