On a tranquil little island 12 miles out in Chesapeake Bay, Tangier still retains many of its old customs. Inhabitants still speak with a trace of Elizabethan accent. Walk the quaint, narrow streets, browse in shops, or take a tour. Boats to the island depart from Onancock and Reedville or from Crisfield, Maryland. Great seafood, caught fresh from the surrounding bay, in local restaurants. Also, visit the pristine Tangier Island beach.
