In the village of Greenbush, you'll find the Wade House State Historic Site, a collection of well-preserved 19th-century buildings centered around the 1850s Wade House stagecoach inn. Costumed guides conduct tours and demonstrate such domestic activities as cooking, candle making, and gardening. Other buildings include a blacksmith shop, sawmill ruins, and Robinson House (1855). Wade House is open May 13 to October 15. Special events include an annual Civil War Weekend and Herrling Sawmill Days. The Wesley Jung Carriage Museum contains an extensive collection of antique carriages, wagons, and sleighs.
Greenbush is also at the western end of the 17-mile Old Plank Road Trail, a paved trailway used by runners, bicyclists, rollerbladers, and others, that connects Sheboygan with the Ice Age Trail in Kettle Moraine State Forest.
