Milwaukee's nightlife is vibrant and varied, with something for every
taste. Blues aficionados should head to the Up and Under Pub, Milwaukee's
premiere blues bar. Rock fans should check out the schedule for Shank Hall,
where the nation's best touring acts play on a regular basis. For jazz fans,
John Hawk's Pub features live jazz on Saturday nights. They also have a host
of British beers on tap and a large, international bottled beer selection.
Their riverside beer garden is a great place to relax on a summer
evening. It figures that Milwaukee, a city nearly synonymous with
beer, should teem with great brewpubs. At Milwaukee's oldest brewpub, Water
Street Brewery, you can tour the premises, or just relax and savor one of
their excellent beers. For an unusual evening out, don your best disguise
and head for the Safe House. Martinis are hot in this beer-drinking
town, as well, and you can find some of the best in town at Eddie Martini's.
A steak restaurant with a retro flair, Eddie Martini's serves up both
classic martinis and their own twist on the traditional as Sinatra croons in
the background. For an elegant evening on the town, try Blu atop the
historic Pfister Hotel. The spectacular view only adds to the nightly
entertainment. Milwaukee also has a host of great dance clubs to
choose from. For up-to-the-minute schedules and other information, consult
the weekly Shepherd Express.
